Privacy policy

Last updated: 11 October 2026

In short
  • Word Jumble is made for children. It has no accounts and no adverts.
  • It never asks for a name, email address, photo, location or contacts, and it does not use the microphone or camera.
  • It sends anonymous information about how the game is played and about crashes, so that we can improve it. A parent can switch this off.
  • We do not sell information or share it for advertising.

Who we are

Word Jumble is published by Damurka. For anything about privacy, write to wordjumble@damurka.com.

What stays on the device

The game keeps these on the phone or tablet it is played on:

We cannot see any of this. If backup is switched on for the device, Android may copy progress, scores and settings to the device owner's own Google account so that they can be restored after a reinstall or on a new device. A parent can also save progress to a file, and restore it, from the game's settings; that file stays wherever the parent chooses to keep it.

Uninstalling the game, or clearing its data in the device settings, deletes everything it stored on the device.

What is sent to us

Unless a parent switches it off, the game sends anonymous information through Google's Firebase services:

Along with this, Google's software records general details about the device: its model, operating system version, language and country, the version of the game, and a random number that identifies this installation of the game. That number is not linked to a name or account, and it changes if the game is reinstalled or its data is cleared.

The game is set up so that it does not collect the device's advertising ID or Android ID, and so that nothing it sends is used to personalise adverts.

To switch this off: open Settings in the game, go to "For grown-ups", and turn off "Send anonymous usage and crash reports".

Purchases

The full game is bought through Google Play, which handles the payment. We never see card or payment details. The game only learns from Google Play whether the full game is owned by the Google account on the device. A sum for a grown-up has to be answered before the purchase screen opens.

Sound

Words are read aloud by the text-to-speech software already on the device. The game does not record sound and does not ask to use the microphone.

Who receives information

Only Google, which runs the Firebase and Google Play services described above on our behalf. We do not sell information and do not give it to anyone else. Google explains how it handles this data in Privacy and Security in Firebase and in the Google Privacy Policy.

How long it is kept

Crash reports are kept for 90 days. Usage information is kept by Google Analytics for a limited period and is then deleted automatically.

Children's privacy and parents' choices

We designed the game to collect as little as possible and nothing that names or contacts a child. Parents and guardians can:
